"I’m used to doing many types of home repair myself and I am very demanding of my own quality of work. I hate seeing half assed jobs done by sloppy contractors, especially if I’m paying the bill (and even when I’m not). However, I decided that these jobs were too big for me to handle alone and so I reluctantly called in professional help. We know Tim and Gina through our kids. Tim was aware of some of my fairly involved DIY projects when I asked if he would do the job for me and he bravely took it on. But I don’t think he fully understood at first what a royal pain in the ass I can be..!!!
But no problem - what a refreshing experience working with a contractor who was flexible, listened and complied to most of my demands whilst not being afraid to offer guidance where needed without talking down to me as some contractors can do. He didn’t complain when I moved the goal posts and ended up finishing some of the work myself (to save money). And I believe the final bill was reasonable especially when compared to estimates I received from a much larger, well known Columbia contractor.
